Point of Care Testing Coor
Days including rotating w/e's & holidays
Assist Laboratory Administrative Director/Manager with the oversight of all Point of Care Testing (POCT) performed within Oneida Healthcare and its ancillary clinics, physician office practices and after hours care facilities (Quick Care). The coordinator will work closely with the physicians, directors, managers, clinical laboratory administration and staff; and quality and risk management to ensure high quality testing and regulatory compliance at all POCT locations. Supports laboratory director/manager with communications, needs assessments, review and introduction of POCT procedures and/or alternative delivery of laboratory service, filing and renewal of certificates, licenses, inspections and quality assurance compliance documents. Supports Chemistry and Hematology departments by assisting with daily testing at bench as part of the regularly scheduled testing staff.
Day shift hours, generally 7a to 3p. Rotating weekends and holidays with same frequency as departmental technologists assigned to day shift.
Education: Must meet education requirements as Clinical Laboratory Technologist defined by New York State Department of Education. Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from approved school
Experience: Previous Point of Care Testing experience preferred but not required.
Licensure: Must be licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist by New York State Department of Education.
